LOR’s Andika Rama Maulana and Moreno Pratama finish 2nd and 4th at the Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup Indonesia 2023

Team Legion of Racers athletes Andika Rama Maulana and Moreno Pratama have ended the Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup Indonesia 2023 in second and fourth spot respectively.

Andika was leading the standings going into the final race and was in a strong position to win the title while in P2 but a strategy error caused him to drop back the field where he eventually finished in fifth spot, causing him to lose the title to rival Benaya Theo.

While Andika Rama may be disappointed with finishing the championship in second position, he will still earn a spot to represent Indonesia in the upcoming Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup Asia to be held in September 2023.

Moreno, on the other hand demonstrated a strong pace throughout the weekend but he suffered some equipment gremlins which hampered his chances to win the title.

However, he was looking good for a top three position in the standings while leading the final race but an issue with the wheel caused him to spin and lose the lead, eventually finishing second in the race.

But he had to settle for fourth placing after missing the third position by a point.

Said Moreno, “The race today was really disappointing, not the result that l want but it is what it is.

“I will comeback stronger next year.”

Added Andika, “The TGR GT Indonesia 2023 was just awesome in every way this year.

“The competition is much higher than last year, and everyone has really improved a lot compared to last season.

“I’m really happy with my results although the last crucial round I did really bad as I gambled on tyre choices which did not work out.

“It's P2, so I'll be again representing Indonesia and LOR in TGR GT Cup Asia again this year and I hope for the best results on Asia!”

LOR co-founder Melvin Moh said that it was a pity that Andika was not able to hold on and finish in top spot.

“We were looking good for the title until Rama made the gamble which didn’t pay off.

“But this is racing and sometimes you have to take risks which did not work out this time.

“It was also unfortunate for Moreno due to some issues faced which hampered his chances.

“Nevertheless, we are still proud of the team’s performance and we look forward to Andika representing Indonesia in the Asia Finals coming up in September.”
